1. The Lord of the Rings Playset”

Back in 1978, before the popular Peter Jackson movies, there was an animated version of The Lord of the Rings. They made toys to go along with it, and now those toys are worth a lot. A set of these toys can sell for up to $17,000.

2. David Bowie’s Diamond Dogs Album

In 1974, David Bowie released an album called Diamond Dogs. The cover had a strange picture of Bowie as half himself and half a dog. Some copies of the album with the original cover can sell for $3,550.

3. Luke Skywalker Toy

There’s a super rare Luke Skywalker toy from 1978 that has a lightsaber that can telescope out twice. Only 20 of these toys are known to exist, and one sold for $25,000 in 2015.

4. The Sex Pistols Single

The Sex Pistols were a controversial band in the 1970s. They signed with a record label and released a single called “God Save the Queen.” The record label dropped them soon after, but not before making a few copies. Only nine of these copies are known to exist, and one sold for about $17,600 in 2003.

There’s a Barbie doll from the 1970s called Walk Lively Steffie. If you have one that’s still in its original packaging and in great condition, it could sell for nearly $800.

6. The Garden of Abdul Gasazi Book

A book called The Garden of Abdul Gasazi, written by Chris Van Allsburg in 1979, can sell for almost $1000 if it’s a first edition and in excellent condition. Other first editions by the same author can also be worth a lot of money.

7. One Hundred Years of Solitude Book

In some early copies of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, there’s a small mistake on the cover. Instead of a period at the end of the first paragraph, there’s an exclamation point. These copies can sell for $740 or more. Even copies with the correct period can be worth about $400.
