The FOX5 Surprise Squad wanted to make this kid’s prom really special after hearing about a boy named Daniel with Down syndrome who got turned down by a girl he asked to the homecoming dance.
Daniel, who is 17, thought he’d have to go to prom alone, but something amazing happened.
A girl named Kylie Fronius stepped up to be his date. She’s a kind-hearted girl who doesn’t see Daniel as disabled. She believes he’s just like everyone else, just learns differently. She sees the world in a special way.
Daniel’s mom, Tonya, was really touched by Kylie’s gesture. She thought it was incredible what Kylie did for her son. Tonya was happy to know there was someone who saw Daniel without any limits.
Once the Fox5 Surprise Squad knew the whole story, they started planning surprises for Daniel and Kylie. These teens will always remember what happened because it was so special. They deserved every surprise they were going to get.
When Monika Jackson met the teens, she told them how their story touched many people’s hearts. One of the surprises was a fancy Rolls Royce that would take them to prom in style.
They also got to enjoy a nice treat at Bistro 57 before heading to prom. Tonya had seen the place before but never had the chance or money to go there.
But the biggest surprise was still to come. Over 4.8 million people have watched their story on Fox’s YouTube page.
