“USA’s most haunted lake”: Lake Lanier, Known for Tragic History, to Open Waterslide Despite Concerns

Discover the eerie past of Lake Lanier as plans unfold for a new waterslide attraction. 🌊 Dive into the controversy surrounding this haunted landmark with 700 lives lost since its creation in 1956

Lake Lanier is a man-made lake made in the 1950s. It was built to help with water and electricity needs in Atlanta, but it caused problems. Many people were forced to leave their homes, and even graveyards were moved. Some buildings and trees ended up underwater, making it dangerous for swimmers. Sadly, about 700 people have died in the lake since it was made.

Now, they’re planning to build a water park there with big slides. Some people worry because of the lake’s spooky history. They think it’s not respectful to build fun things on a place where so many people died. Others say there was already a water park there before.

We’ll have to see how it goes when the new water park opens in 2024.
