They chose the wrong pensioner to rob
Most people really like their grandparents. They’re usually kind, nice, and not as strict as parents. My grandparents were great. They helped me bake, let me eat lots of sweets, and took me on fun trips.
My grandma could turn a simple walk into an exciting pirate adventure in the woods behind her house.
As I got older, I realized there weren’t any pirates or treasure, but grandma’s ability to make things special stuck with me.
You quickly learn not to mess with grandparents. You know how it will end. That’s definitely true for 77-year-old Winifred Peel from Wirral, UK.
One day, Winifred went to get money from a cash machine. While she was there, she noticed someone sneaking up behind her. Before she could react, two men grabbed her. Then, another man showed up.
One of them tried to take £200 from Winifred’s account.
But Winifred had a plan. She grabbed the man and hit his head against the ATM three times. The robbers ran away scared.
Winifred called the police, and the robbers were caught later that day.
The police found them easily because one of them had a head wound from Winifred’s actions. They were identified as Piper Dumitru, Florin Gebelscu, and Felix Stoica. All three admitted their guilt in court and were sent to jail.
Winifred said, “This experience changed my life. I won’t feel as confident as I used to.”
Luckily, Winifred had grown up with three brothers and went to the gym often, so she was strong and brave when she needed to be.
