Here’s a heartwarming story about a brother’s love for his sister. Maverick Oyao wanted to make his sister, Lu Asey Keanna, happy when her school announced their Junior-Senior Prom. Asey was worried about not affording a fancy gown, but Maverick decided to do something about it.
With just $62, Maverick went to the store to buy materials. He got inspired by a famous Filipino designer, Michael Cinco, and started making the dress.
He started by cutting fabric for the skirt and adding pretty ribbons and decorations. Then, he painted the corset and added sleeves, making it look beautiful.
When it was finished, Asey looked stunning in her winter-themed gown. Maverick even got praised by Michael Cinco himself!
Maverick’s gesture showed his support and love for his sister. He said he’ll always be there for her. Asey might not have won the Best Dress award, but to Maverick, she was the real winner because she wore the dress he made with love.
Now, Maverick uses his talent to help his family by doing design projects and photoshoots. You can see him and Asey having fun together in his Facebook posts.
Doing what he loves keeps Maverick happy and motivated.
