New Details Emerge on Angela Chao’s Tragic Accident

More information has come out about Angela Chao’s death. She was a businesswoman and sister-in-law of Mitch McConnell. She was found in a pond in February after a reported accident.

A new report says Angela, who was 50 years old, was at a Texas ranch with seven friends for a girls’ weekend. On Feb. 10, she accidentally backed her Tesla X into a pond while returning to her lodge after dinner and drinks. Sadly, she drowned before rescuers could reach her.

Tests showed Angela had a very high level of alcohol in her blood, almost three times the legal limit for driving in Texas. Investigators concluded it was an accident after reviewing all the evidence.

The sheriff’s office initially treated it as a possible water rescue. Angela had called a friend from her car, saying she was trapped as water rose. She remained calm during the call and said her goodbyes.

Angela was the CEO of a shipping company founded by her parents. Her older sister, Elaine Chao, is married to Mitch McConnell. Angela’s family described her as a brilliant, kind, and loving person.

Her death was a shock to her family and friends, leaving them devastated.
