“She’s Exceptional”: Michael Keaton’s Thoughts on Jenna Ortega in Beetlejuice Sequel

Michael Keaton, who is 72 years old, recently praised Jenna Ortega during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new movie Knox Goes Away. They talked about the upcoming sequel to Beetlejuice, called Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Keaton talked about working with Jenna Ortega, who is 21 years old and plays Winona Ryder’s character’s daughter, Lydia Deetz, in the sequel. He really liked working with her and said she understood the tone of the movie right away. He thinks she’s very talented and special.

The sequel is being directed by Tim Burton and produced by Brad Pitt’s company, Plan B. Along with Keaton and Ryder, Catherine O’Hara is also returning to play Lydia’s mother, Delia.

Some new cast members include Willem Dafoe, who might play a law enforcement officer in the afterlife, and Justin Theroux, whose role hasn’t been revealed yet. Monica Bellucci, who might be dating Burton, is also in the movie and is rumored to play Beetlejuice’s wife.

Keaton told PEOPLE last month that making the sequel was really fun, even though it took a long time to happen. He said it was the most fun he’s had on set in a while.
