French Actor and Director Gérard Depardieu Accused of Harassment Again

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a preliminary investigation into yet another complaint of sexual harassment against the renowned actor Gérard Depardieu, which was filed on January 9 of this year. This was reported by Ouest France.

According to the source, the complaint was lodged by a former assistant of the celebrity who preferred not to disclose her name and identity. She stated that the director harassed her during the filming of a project in 2014. The authorities of the French capital are already conducting a preliminary investigation.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Gérard has been accused of harassment. In 2019, Emmanuel Debever confessed that the actor coerced her into intimacy. Last year, several complaints of harassment were filed against Depardieu. Thirteen women complained in court that the artist had assaulted them on set.

Following this, a letter appeared on the internet in which 50 French cultural figures expressed their support for Gérard. It was noted that no one can erase the results of the actor’s work, as they are a “mirror of the era”. The cultural figures also stated that they rely on justice and do not intend to engage in disputes. Depardieu himself denies the allegations of sexual harassment.
