Loretta Swit, 85, Embraces Life with Dogs and Maintains Youthful Appearance; Single Since Split with Co-Star

Loretta Swit is an 85-year-old actress known for her roles in TV shows like “M*A*S*H” and “Diagnosis: Murder.” She started acting at a young age despite her parents not approving. She studied acting and worked in theater before moving to Hollywood.

Her big break came with “M*A*S*H,” where she met her one true love, Dennis Holahan, who was also on the show. Despite feeling burnt out during the series, meeting Holahan made her stay. They fell in love quickly and got married in 1983.

However, their marriage ended in 1989, reportedly due to issues of jealousy and financial demands from Holahan.

After “M*A*S*H,” Swit continued acting in various roles. She became reclusive about her personal life by 1995, avoiding interviews. She hasn’t remarried since her divorce from Holahan.

Swit is admired for her enduring beauty and is also known for her love of animals. She runs an organization called Sweetheart Animal Alliance, which rescues and cares for animals.

She uses her art to raise funds for the organization. Swit advocates against animal cruelty and encourages people to choose faux fur over real fur to save animals’ lives.
