Selena Gomez Returns to the Role of Alex 12 Years Later in the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ Sequel

Selena Gomez began her acting career in childhood, and her most famous role on the Disney Channel was the character Alex Russo in the series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which aired from 2007 to 2012. The show revolved around a family of wizards living in New York. Many fans of the actress admit that it was through this project that they became acquainted with her work. Recently, it was announced that a sequel would be released 12 years after the show’s conclusion.

This time, the plot will focus on the brother of the main protagonist, who gave up his magical abilities in favor of his sister, Alex. David Henrie will reprise his role, and Selena Gomez will make appearances in several episodes.

“Adult Justin Russo leads a regular human life with his wife and two sons. However, a young wizard unexpectedly appears on his doorstep, in need of a mentor.”

Selena Gomez herself wrote on social media that she is eagerly anticipating her return to the set:

“So excited. We’re coming back.”

It is known that the filming of the series has not started yet, but work on the first episode is actively underway.
