The year 2024 started off with a significant milestone for American actor Willem Dafoe as he received his long-awaited star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on January 8th and was attended not only by the actor’s close friends and family but also by several colleagues with whom he shares friendships beyond the film set. In the supporting group for Dafoe, notable figures such as “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal, actor and producer Mark Ruffalo, director Guillermo del Toro, and actresses Patricia Arquette and Camila Morrone were spotted.
“It’s wonderful to be part of this community of artists and performers, people who share their experiences, help us see the world through different eyes, tell stories, and reflect on what is, was, and most importantly, what could be,” said Dafoe in his grateful speech. He took a moment to acknowledge the contribution of his wife, Jada Colagrande, who was also present at the star unveiling.
It is noteworthy that Willem Dafoe’s career spans over 40 years with numerous standout roles. He first appeared on screen in a cameo role in the 1980 film “Heaven’s Gate.” Among his most renowned works are Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac” and “Antichrist,” David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart,” Mary Harron’s “American Psycho,” the “Spider-Man” franchise, the film anthology “Paris, je t’aime,” the recent blockbuster “John Wick,” and more.
Dafoe’s latest film is Jorgos Lanthimos’ “The Poor and the Unfortunate,” which received two Golden Globe awards in 2024, including “Best Motion Picture โ Musical or Comedy.”
