In a recent interview with WSJ, actress Angelina Jolie opened up about the aftermath of her divorce from Brad Pitt, revealing significant changes in her life. According to the actress, she expressed a desire to live in Cambodia. Angelina added that if she had to choose her career path again today, she wouldn’t have chosen acting. She dislikes constantly sharing personal details of her life.
“Part of the aftermath of the divorce: I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I’ll move as soon as I can. When I started, I didn’t expect to be so public, and I didn’t expect to have to share so much,” the celebrity shared, hinting at the possibility of leaving her acting career.
Jolie admitted that she now has almost no “social life”; she has few friends and primarily communicates with her children. Additionally, among her close acquaintances are several refugees.
“People who have gone through hardships are much more honest and sociable, and I feel more at ease with them. Why do I like spending time with survivors? They have faced so much in life that it helps not only to gain strength but also humanity,” the star confessed.
Jolie noted that she is currently working on opening her store in New York and revealed her intention to provide jobs for refugees, even if it proves to be unprofitable.
“I may lose money. If I can eventually implement some things that, in my opinion, will be improvements and just break even, that will be a huge victory,” Jolie said.
She also recalled the scandalous divorce with Brad Pitt, a process that lasted seven years. According to her, during this time, she only starred in five films.
“We just needed to heal from all of that,” the star insisted.
Jolie met Brad Pitt in 2005, and they soon began dating. They got married in 2014, but in 2016, the actress filed for divorce after a serious argument on a private plane. Afterward, Jolie accused him of physical abuse toward her and the children.
