Actor Evan Ellingson, known for his roles in CSI: Miami and the movie My Sister’s Keeper with Cameron Diaz, has passed away at the age of 35.
He was found dead on November 5 in his Fontana, California home. The cause of death is not known yet, but his family mentioned his long struggle with addiction. According to his father, Evan died in a sober-living home.
The family expressed their sadness in a statement, saying Evan was a caring person who loved Jesus, had a warm spirit, and always wanted to help others struggling with addiction. He had been sober for three years but had a recent relapse after being prescribed opioids for a dental procedure.
Although he was best known for CSI: Miami and My Sister’s Keeper, Evan started his Hollywood career with small roles in a TV movie and General Hospital. He also appeared in shows like ‘Titus,’ ‘That Was Then,’ ‘Mad TV,’ ‘Complete Savages,’ ‘Bones,’ ’24,’ among others. Evan hadn’t been in front of a camera for about ten years before his passing.
Abigail Breslin, his former co-star, paid tribute, describing Evan as a kind, funny, and talented person. She shared memories of their time working together and expressed her sadness at his passing.
Rest in peace, Evan Ellingson.
